In my last semester at CMU 2 peers and I embarked with an expectation of investigating how students, new residents, and temporary residents interacted with disenfranchised neighbourhoods in Pittsburgh. We were on a path to creating a digital system and physical installation/interaction. Quarantine got in the way. We pivoted to exploring what we could do individually with no or limited physical materials or interactions.

I BEGAN MY WORK WITH AN INSIGHT INTO A DISCONNECT BETWEEN THE NEED ON BOTH ENDS OF FOOD DELIVERY WITH CONCERNS FOR STERILITY AND THE TREATMENT OF DELIVERED ITEMS.

On this idea, I proposed an over the top system of sterilization and a brand language similar to that of the USDA to quell the fears customers could have when ordering delivered items.

ON MY SECOND PASS I WANTED TO WORK ON SOMETHING THAT WAS LESS SPECULATIVE - COULD ACTUALLY BE IMPLEMENTED - AND HAD A LIGHTER TONE WHERE I COULD HAVE SOME MORE FUN VISUALLY AND CONCEPTUALLY.

I created a series of 4 posters meant as data visualizations of simple + actionable coronavirus facts to help people be and feel safe in this world. I also had some fun building a website to distribute my projects and the projects my group mates were working on.

After presenting this project I kept the ball rolling and made two more posters to continue the series.
